UK Emigration Centers Asked to Stop the Detention of Children
Reports show that there have been a very high number of children that are sick with fear at many of the UK emigration detention centers around the country. Some of these kids are unsure what is going on, and many are even without their parents. Some doctors have even claimed that children suffer from many different problems inside these detention centers. This includes behavioral problems, severe emotional problems, confusion, sleep problems, fear, headaches and abdominal pain.
The UK Border Agency has gone on to claim that treating the children inside these centers is of top priory to them. However, other experts just go on to point out that the locking up of children has proven time and time again that it can, and normally does, affect their mental health, starting from their young years and working all the way up into adulthood. These kinds of events, so early in children's lives cause severe emotional stress at a time when their body is still going through growth stages.
Many protest groups and people in general have been writing to the UK government and the UK Border Agency asking them to stop the detention of failed child asylum seekers. Some point out that other countries have already found more humane arrangements for kids and families with kids while their cases are being settled.
