It now seems that many people are saying that emigrants in Britain are facing unethical and discriminatory treatment. According to the HSMP Forum, authorities are forcing emigrants to pay excessive fees for Home Office services.

The HSMP Forum went on to say that emigrants in the UK demand fair treatment from the Home Office. However, starting in 2006, emigrants have been forced to pay for the overall emigration service by way of dual taxation rather than just being made to pay for their application processing fee alone.

It is now alleged that the emigrants in Britain are forced to pay excessive fees for these Home Office services. On top of this, the Home Office is currently conducting a charging consultation to further increase the existing high fees.

The executive director of the HSMP Forum and Association of Emigrants, Amit Kapadia, has come forward and expressed his concern over the unfair treatment of the emigrants in the UK. He said that they are all very concerned with the way that the Home Office is treating these people. It’s not only discriminatory… it is unethical.

In the submission made by the HSMP Forum to the UK Border Agency regarding the charges, they pointed out that the fees charged for visa extensions and entry clearance has increased by more than 100 percent since April 2007. Kapadia said that emigrants already pay their taxes for living in the UK, but they are now also forced to pay for these increases in Home Office fees. Kapadia said that this is like a form of double taxation, and they should not have to put up with it.
