UK and French Governments Plan for Mass Deportation
UK and French Governments Plan for Mass Deportation
According to many sources, this mass deportation will be started on July 21. This is when the French government will start the destruction of the "Jungle", which is a name that has been given to a site that has been a makeshift camp for 1,800 emigrants trying to get into the UK. The first "Jungle" that will be hit will be the one that is inhabited by mostly Afghan Pashtu, but other "Jungles" will also be at risk soon after.
Donna Covey, the chief executive of the Refugee Council said that the refugees that are camped out are forced to queue each day for soup kitchens provided by local volunteers. They also have little access to basic needs like running water. Along with these refugees, many have noticed that children are also among them.
The UK government has already promised France almost £15 million for border protection in return for help in deporting immigrants. This is money that some experts say the UK government could be using towards better things. Right now details have emerged that the plan is to forcibly deport hundreds of people by way of charter flights to kabul.
The UK and French governments say that this could be a hard job, because many of these emigrants will do anything they can not to go back. Thus, most of them are going to have to be removed by force.
