Emigrants Taking Bulk of New UK Jobs
These new figures go on to show that, out of the 1.8 million new jobs that were created since 1997, only 15 percent of these jobs went to Britons. The figures went on to show that there were 90,000 fewer Britons working for the private sector in the first quarter of 2009 when compared to the same quarter almost twelve years ago.
Frank Field MP said that these figures tell a very simple story. These figures show that the private sector has been giving British jobs to foreign workers. He went on to say that the private sector should now ensure that local people get the first chance at gaining these local jobs.
On top of this, the number of employers that have been prosecuted for taking on illegal emigrants has jumped up five fold since the new penalty system has been introduced into law last February. Before this new legislation hit, there were only about 40 cases that were brought against employers every year. This is now compared to the 223 cases that have been brought on people just this year.
Many people point out that thees new regulations are very tough on people who recruit illegal emigrants. However, it is not just tough on companies, but also on families who try to hire illegal staff as well.
