Michael Jackson Dies, Doctor Being Questioned
The official autopsy for Michael was done on Friday; however, the Jackson family has now sought for a second autopsy to be done. Many questions have now been raised about the singers relationship with prescription medications.
Michael's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray was with the singer when he first collapsed at his mansion. Dr. Murray had already hired an attorney to accompany him to a rather lengthy meeting with the Los Angeles Police Department. This meeting happened last Saturday.
The Houston law firm Stradley, Chernoff & Alford that Dr. Murray hired said that Conrad Murray is a witness to the events surrounding Michael and is not a suspect. They went on to say that Dr. Murray chose to hire legal counsel to guide him through the police investigation process. They also noted that they were hired to make sure that the police investigation was done properly.
According to many media reports, Michael was apparently injected with the narcotic painkiller Demerol just shortly before he had a heart attack. When the paramedics arrived, Dr. Murray was trying to revive Michael. The doctor also rode in the ambulance with the singer on the way to the hospital.
The first official autopsy failed to determined what actually killed Michael. There are still pending toxicology tests out that will not return for six weeks.
