Dead Illegal Emigrant Kept in Freezer for 20 years
An elderly woman, age 83, has been questioned by police after finding a dead body in her London home. The police questioned the woman after allegedly keeping her mother’s dead body in her freezer for almost two decades.
After entering into the woman’s apartment, the police found the lady’s mother wrapped in a black bin liner, inside a chest freezer. After interviewing the 83 year old women, they were able to identify the mother as Gulbai Freedoon Murzan, who was born back in 1901. Police suspect that she must have been dead and kept in the freezer for almost 20 years.
The police went on to explain that they are treating the death as unexplained, rather than suspicious. The police were called to the property in Park Mead on May 10 by a neighbor. It was during this call that the forensic officers removed the corpse.
It still remains unclear why the woman choose to keep her mother in the freezer, but many suspect that the elderly lady kept her mother in the freezer because she was worried that emigration authorities would have discovered that her mother had been living in the UK illegally.
People who lived around the old lady said that she was very sweet and kept to herself. A spokesman for the police said that they have confirmed the residential address and found the body of a woman. They believe that they know the identity of the woman, but they will await formal identification. The death is going to be treated as unexplained. The 83 year old woman who has been interviewed is under caution, but their will be no arrest for the time being.
