Home Office to Meet with Family Up for Deportation
The Home Office will be meeting with a family that is now looking to be removed from the UK. After living in the UK for almost nine years, this family is up to be removed, because their bank account fell below the £800 that is required for emigrants.
The family will be meeting with the Home Office to try to fight the deportation. The Indian family has lived in the UK for so long they feel it's unfair to be made to leave now when their bank account fell short of the 800 pounds by only 78 pounds. The man of the family also hopes to point out to the Home Office that he is a Doctor (Dr Swarthick Salins) and not just another labor worker.
The fight for Dr Salins to be able to stay in the UK has now gathered a lot of support. The first person to publicly back the case was First Minister Alex Salmond, who backed Dr Salins on his right to stay in the UK. Dr Salins will meet with the Home Office today. However, he was first suppose to meet with the Home Office on Wednesday.
Dr Salins is a father of three kids that were all born right in the UK. Despite the fact that the kids were born in the UK, they have been ordered to leave with Dr Salins because of the bank account.
The UK Border Agency says that it's very important that emigrants be able to support themselves while they live in the UK. This is where the rule for the bank account comes into play. Being a Dcotor, Salins feels that he will have and has had no problem supporting his family in the UK.
