After setting up Operation Pathway, investigators were not able to press any charges on 12 men that were suspected of plotting terrorists attacks in the UK. One of the 12 men that was suspected was an 18 year old student who has now been freed. At the same time, one of the fathers of the detainees reported that his son was now a victim of anti-Muslim discrimination brought on by UK agencies.

The father went on to say that he knows his son, and he knows that he is not part of any mysterious plots to strike terror into the UK. He was simply studying computer science at the fine institutions that the UK has to offer. The father also said that he read about the raids in the papers and pointed out many blatant errors.

Further still, other families of the suspects that had been arrested held press conferences in Dera Ismail Khan to denounce the arrests that the UK made. However, heated disagreements have been going on between the UK and Pakistani governments for quite some time. According to reports, Pakistan police arrested a Scottish aid worker. The man had converted to Islam and was helping to promote education in Kashmir. This spat filtered out the same weekend that the Pakistani students were arrested in north west England.

The raids were launched by British authorities after a top British anti-terror official was seen carrying a detailed report of Operation Pathway openly at Downing Street. More details will be released about the raid later this week.
