U.S. Immigration rules in shambles
U.S. Immigration rules in shambles
Illegal immigration is a huge issue that faces American law-making authorities. Implacable law-keepers like Richard K. Jones, Sheriff, Ohio strongly advocate a non-negotiable anti-immigrant policy. He feels that all parties to the crime must be tackled; the immigrants who have illegally entered the U.S., businesses that are ready to hire them and political figures who don't like to get involved. Jones feels that employers are to be blamed most as they offer a livelihood to these illegal immigrants. Employers, feels Jones, must be fined amounts that make them feel the pinch that will in turn dissuade the community from encouraging illegal immigrants.
But one only has to meet Armando Mondragon's family to know the plight of these immigrants. His family waits it out in their West Chester apartment with the fear that the family breadwinner may be deported to Mexico. Mondragon's wife with the help of a translator explained that her husband had been supporting the family by working as a landscaper. After leaving Mexico in 1996, Mondragon had illegally set up base with his wife in the U.S. Five children were born to them subsequently, all of whom are natural U.S. citizens. The family cherishes the life they lead in the U.S. after the hardships suffered in their native land.
The future President of the U.S. will be bearing the brunt of this tricky situation with no solution anywhere in sight.
