British Petition on Immigration Reaches 100,000 Mark

Well, it seems that the government is not doing enough to control immigration. At least, that is the way over 100,000 Brits feel. In fact, a report shows that a petition on immigration has just reached that 100,000 mark. This means that the petition is now eligible for a Commons debate.

Reports show that immigration is going to force the population to rise from the current 62.3 million to 70 million in 16 years. This means that the UK population is going to spiral out of control. Citizens now feel that it is necessary to show their support for immigration control.

An online petition is urging ministers to curb immigration. It has already had more than 100,000 signatures in just one week. The longer this online petition is up, the more signatures it is likely to gain. Migrationwatch is calling for all necessary steps to be taken to make sure that the UK population does not grow past 70 million in 16 years.

Damian Green, who is the immigration minister, said that sweeping changes were already being introduced. These changes should help to reduce net migration.

However, regardless of what Mr. Green says, Brits say that they have heard it all before. They say that they are promised one thing and then given another. They want to see action taken, and they want to see it taken now. One person who signed the petition said that he was still under the impression that the UK belonged to the Brits. Nevertheless, every year it seems like Brits are becoming the secondary citizens. People from other countries are coming over, using their services, and taking their jobs.
