Immigration Mastermind Finally Behind Bars

According to new reports, the mastermind of a major immigration scam in the UK has finally been put behind bars. After this criminal was brought to justice, the Minister of State for Immigration in the UK, Damian Green, said that the UK is no longer going to be an “easy touch.”

The immigration scam was cooked up by 41-year-old Ravi Gupta. Apparently, he was convicted of supplying his clients with fake documents that they could use to get UK visa immigration applications. Most of the time these documents would help people falsify their income details. Due to his part in the scam, Mr. Grupta was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in jail. It was also recommended that he be deported after being released.

The scam made Mr. Gupta a lot of money. Apparently, he was charging around £5,000 for each application. Just how many of these documents he gave out is not known. However, in court, he did admit to 14 charges of assisting illegal immigration and an additional charge of obtaining leave to remain in the UK by way of deception.

A spokesman for the UK Border Agency said when someone was reaching the end of their visa, this man would assist them with obtaining fake certificates or pay slips. Most of the time it would make these migrants look like they had much better jobs than what they really had. It made the migrant appear to be in a “high skilled” job. However, most of the time the migrant turned out to work cleaning jobs or other low-income jobs.
