United States making progress with illegal immigrants

After years of trying different techniques the United States is starting to see the results they had hoped for. A growing trend has more illegal immigrants leaving the United States to return to their birth country. The consulate spokesperson for Mexico there have been over four hundred families who currently reside in the united states that have requested for documentation to help transfer their children to new schools in Mexico. The Mexican consulate in Dallas Texas, Enrique Hubbard Urrea commented that while there is no way to track all of the movements of illegal immigrants the numbers are rising for those leaving the united states and moving back to Mexico. Enrique Hubbard Urrea commented “There is no doubt the trend indicates that the number is growing.” The numbers he is referring to is that in 2005 he had received only 162 requests for school transfers and in 2007 the number had skyrocketed to 270. The consulate believed in 2008 that number could be doubled.

The main reasons for the return of the illegal immigrant Enrique Hubbard Urrea believes is that due to a number of legislation passed in the United States more and more illegal are finding it hard to locate new employment opportunities. In addition they are afraid of being deported and have less belief they will be able to acquire residency in the United States through legal means in the short term. Urrea commented “Some say companies fear hiring people without proper documents.”
