United States and Vietnam celebrate successful years of immigration
Many different groups have been founded to help keep the relationship and immigration between the two nations working with minimal issues. Humanitarian Operation was created to help provide those in need the ability to find a safe home by emigrating. Amerasian Children was founded to aid in the immigration process for those children that were born from parents including soldiers from the United States during the Vietnam war. Another organization that was founded is to aid Vietnamese who have immigrated to the United States but are planning their return, this group is called Resettlement Opportunity for Vietnamese Returnees.
Each program had their own level of success in helping making the immigration process being one of ease. The Humanitarian Operation during those years aided with the immigration of over 130,000 Vietnamese to the United States while the Ameriasian Children helped another 81,000 take up roots in the United States after leaving their birth country of Vietnam behind. The resettlement opportunity for Vietnamese returnees assisted with over 17,000.
These statistics were reported in the Youth based on a seminar led by the director of immigration Le Xuan Vien.
