Lebanon dealing with emigration

Based on research provided by the Sociology department at University Sainte Josephs which is located in Beirut, Lebanon as well as with the help of the research center, a recent study shows that Lebanon has a growing emigration issue. The research showed that 49% of Lebanese that fall between the ages of eighteen and thirty five actually wish to not have to leave their country of birth. They would ideally live their life in Lebanon but however are faced with growing concerns which is presenting emigrating a possible option. Factors such as governmental instability in addition to a weakening economy as well as a possible recession on the rise, 49% is expected to shrink where more and more are expected to leave Lebanon.

The research showed that while 49% hoped to never have to leave, twenty six percent that fall within the same age group already have decided to emigrate and in addition to that another seventeen percent wanted to stay in Lebanon but felt that emigrating would be the better career choice for them. The top reasons why many of Lebanon's youth has plans to leave their home country consistent of looking for more career opportunities, avoid instability within their government or trying to get a better education the research concluded. While the number of those planning to emigrate are high, the research also concluded that that the number of those who emigrated had long term plans to stay in another country. Once their needs were accomplished on foreign soil the majority had planned to return to Lebanon.
