Police Catch 16 Illegal Emigrants Trying to Sneak into the UK
The officers who spotted that one of the trailer's side doors looked as if it had been forced open, handed the emigrants over to the French authorities. The head of the UK Border Force, Brodie Clark, said that the UK Border Agency has officers working 24 hours a day in Calais, using the latest technology, as well as specially trained dogs to identify and prevent illegal emigrants from reaching the UK. Brodie Clark went on to say that this is yet another excellent example of a successful detection by their highly trained staff. The discovery inside the British lorry was made in the early hours of May 24th.
The finding also comes just days after five illegal emigrants were caught trying to enter the UK on trucks operated by Bernie Ecclestone's Formula One Management company. The trucks, which were carrying broadcasting equipment, were returning to the UK F1 headquarters in Biggin Hill in Kent from the Monaco Grand Prix.
Right now it's pretty apparent that emigrants are willing to do whatever they can to try and sneak into the UK. Experts have even reported that there has been an increase in the number of emigrants that have been trying to sneak into the UK by way of frozen lorries. These emigrants are risking death to enter into the UK.
