UK spending in Bulgaria
As more and more Brits are looking to emigrate new countries are becoming hot spots for immigration. France and Spain have remained popular locations but now a new country, Bulgaria is gaining ground as one of the United Kingdoms main choices for spending their money on foreign real estate investments.
Bulgaria has become even more attractive to Brits who are retired and now living off of their pensions a service provider named Saga comments. This has been tied to Bulgaria’s generally inexpensive real estate price tags and the fact that it has recently been included within the European Union. With the UK pension now more mobile thanks to recent legislation, Bulgaria is expecting to see more and more move to their country. The spoke person for Saga, Lisa Harris, commented, “There is some evidence to show that less likely destinations are becoming increasingly popular for example Bulgaria.”
Bulgaria who was added to the European Union back in early 2007 has felt a large growth in the number of properties in the country that have been bought up from foreign investors. Harris commented on the real estate trend, “Probably driven by the fact they have recently joined the EU and house process, whilst rising, are still extremely low.”
The country is starting to become a hot spot and hopes to gain increasing ground on the current main locations for emigration for UK citizens which are Australia, United States of America, Spain, Ireland, Canada and France. Currently, one in five taking British pensions resides in Australia.
