UK completes online shopping for foreign homes
The popular search engine Google provides a tracking service called Google trends which can show popular searches in different areas. The United Kingdom has now taken the second spot on the list of the survey taken for citizens of a country who use google to look for real estate in foreign countries. Based on where you complete the search, the search engine knows where you live and depending on your keywords, knows what you are looking for. The results of the google trend are that the UK loves the web to find foreign real estate.
The google trend showed that overall the UK did less searches from pervious years the most popular locations that are being searched for real estate abroad include common vacation locations such as Spain, France and Portugal. An official with Google commented, “The UK and Ireland still account for the majority of searches. They may not be buying as much as this time last year but they still account for a large percentage of the market.”
Buying foreign real estate has become so common in the United Kingdom that the British citizens alone have over 250,000 properties on foreign soil reported the Office of National Statistics. The Office of National Statistics also reported that 1 out of every 10 citizens in the United Kingdom that is looking to buy abroad is looking to Bulgaria to find the real estate investment. With the growth of the intranet, google trends expects to be a good determinant in future statistics as more turn to complete searches of interest.
