Steward not able to visit Britain
A planned trip to Britain this week to cover various marketing meetings and business events had to be called of as Martha Steward was unable to gain access to Britain due to her being denied for a visa related to the fact she had been convicted of a crime. After being turned away from Britain, Steward was welcomed to Ireland where she is spending her time touring the country. A source close to Steward commented on the situation “We are very disappointed that Martha has been unable to enter the UK. However, we are delighted that she has been able to visit the home of Waterford Crystal, where she was able to view her collection and tour the showrooms.”
Steward has not given up on trying to get the visa ban over turned so that she can once again visit Britain. The UK border agency denied Steward the visa because their guidelines contain the verbiage, “where we believe their presence in the United Kingdom is not conducive to the public good or there they have been found guilty of serious criminal offences abroad.” Stewart was imprisoned back in 2004 for her involvement with the selling of shares and then attempting to lie and cover it up.
The situation has been documented on Stewards blog where she wrote, “Because I cannot yet go to England because of my visa situation I am leaving for a bit if sightseeing. We are hoping that the visa situation will be cleared up in time for me to fulfill my business obligations in England next week.”
