Illegal Vietnam Emigrant Runs Cannabis Factory in the UK

Ngoc Van Tran, an illegal emigrant from Vietnam, was just recently caught running a cannabis factory in the UK. He has now been jailed for two years. This illegal emigrant had already been thrown out of the country almost two years ago, but managed to somehow sneak back in using a false ID.

After getting back into the UK, Ngoc Van Tran soon found himself jobless and homeless in London. This is when he apparently took up work looking after the cannabis plants at a house in Haydon Wick. The prosecutor went on to tell the courts that the police raided this area on March 9th. Officers found Tran in the downstairs living room along with numerous large bags of compost and fertilizer.

Upstairs the officers found that the bedrooms had been converted for growing cannabis. The windows and floors were all sealed. About 300 plants were growing in a sophisticated and expensive hydroponics system with artificial lighting, watering and ventilation.

When Ngoc Van Tran was questioned by the police, he told them that he had been approached by a fellow Vietnamese man and agreed to look after the plants. He said that he was paid £150 a month if it was a good crop or £100 if it was not such high quality.

Ngoc Van Tran pleaded guilty to the cultivation of cannabis. The defending lawyer said that his client had initially tried to enter the UK from France back in 2008, but was deported back to Vietnam. However, he was able to get into the country using a false ID and had a job as a nail technician, but when he lost that position he took up work growing the cannabis.
