Illegal Indian Emigrants Accused of UK Murder

It now appears that an illegal emigrant from India attacked his former girlfriend in London back on July 2008. This attack came after the emigrant had harassed the girl over a prolonged period of time. Just this past Wednesday, the man was found guilty of murder and now faces a life sentence.

The girl, Gemma Dorman, age 24, was stabbed repeatedly outside a Thai restaurant by her former lover, Vikramgit Singh, age 25. Dorman had been having dinner with her finance in south west London when she went out to get cash. It was here that Singh was waiting for her and attacked her at a bus shelter with a 7 inch kitchen knife. The prosecuting lawyer, Richard Whittam, said that it was a very brutal attack on a defenseless woman.

Just two months before the murder, the girl had told police that Singh was stalking her and bombarding her with hundreds of text messages. The girl's mother had also complained about the illegal Indian emigrant. The court was told that Singh was infatuated with Dorman and paid 200 pounds to have a large heart shaped tattoo with her name put into his back.

In a letter, the emigrant proclaimed his love to Dorman. He said that fish cannot live without water, and he cannot live without her. Singh claimed in court that he had given her cash totaling 260,000 pounds, as well as gifts, including computers and jewelery. He also told the court that they were going to set up home together and get married, but she allegedly dumped him after he ran out of money. However, the man's defense was rejected by the jury, and he was found guilty of murder.
